fotopol is a new concept for a fixed camera mounting system. The fotopol mounts can be fixed permanently at scenic locations or on cruise ships to provide visitors with a camera mount for group photos or videos. This ensures no-one ever misses out on appearing in the picture. No need to give your camera to a complete stranger.

As the flip uses a standard tripod screw mount you could fix your flip to the fotopol and record your latest video blog (assuming there is no queue).

Shot on a Flip Ultra HD.

This is a quick video I knocked up in about 20 mins including upload. It’s of my 4 year old Son shot on the Ultra HD. Text added in Final Cut Express.

What you need to do:

• Look for a spot in your house with soft daylight.
• Choose a simple background so the subject (i.e kid) is the point of attention.
• Keep it steady. In fact I didn’t use a tripod I wedged the Flip and my hand tight to a doorframe.
• Keep it short and sweet.

The video is not perfect, but he is!

I own a Black Flip Ultra HD (+ other Flips). The surface of the panels is a rubbery matte texture. Do you own a White Flip Ultra HD is it the same or is it a glossy surface?
