More awesomeness from Flip Video. They’ve created a facebook app Flip Your Profile so you can replace your facebook profile photo with a Video. The only downside is the person looking at it needs to have the app installed to see the Video else it defaults back to the still image.
I’ve been filming for my Pocket Video Power Coursewhich starts the week after next. I set up a temporary studio in my bedroom (nope nothing naughty!) and here’s a stilI I just exported from the video footage using Final Cut Express then Export > Quicktime Conversion > Still Image. I turned into B+W in my Image Editor.
I filmed this Interview on my Flip Ultra HD. It’s part of a course I’ve created for people who want to shoot better Videos with their Pocket Video Cameras. To get on the list and receive a Free training Video please check out my training site at Pocket Video Power.
A while back I posted a totally cool stop motion video shot on a Flip Ultra HD by Graham Love. I asked Graham to explain step by step how to achieve this effect using 2 free tools: Flipshare and Windows Moviemaker (any edit software will work too).
I’m charging for this video to help fund this blog and give Graham some cash towards his next camera! I’m using a new system called Sparkeo which means you’ll log in and have permanent access to the Video, be able to make notes while you watch it and ask questions through the interface. How cool is that!
You can watch the first 60 secs for free to get a glimpse. Enjoy.
Here’s a few good tips for filming Biz Vidz on your Flip Video from getvyral. I’m not sure I agree with all of them (personally prefer to frame centrally if you are looking into camera). But it’s a nicely put together tutorial.
Thanks to Juan Calderon for sharing this video. Shot on a Flip using the underwater case. What makes it different is the use of Animoto to create moving video boxes and screen wipes.
Animoto is a simple to use online service: just add video, stills, text (or any combination), choose a music track and wait for the result. Animoto creates a unique video every time which you can embed on your own website or social media page. Its’ free but you can also subscribe to a premium edition for business use.
This is an unusual Video that uses slow motion and reverse motion really well. I wanted to discover more from the Director.
DISCLOSURE: This interview will make you laugh!
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Jason Biggart and I live in San Diego, California (hence JasoninSD on YouTube). If I told you my job it would bore you to death and make your eyes roll back in your head but I do love to make and edit videos as a hobby and an artistic outlet. If it were fifty years ago I would be that guy with the Super 8 and projector set up ready to bore everyone with my home movies.
What is Halle Bop?
Hale Bopp Blues is the song. It’s by my favorite band “Clutch”. It’s a song put out by them on a “rare and unreleased” album. Like most of my videos, I either film something and think of the music in my head or I listen to the music and get a vision. I was in my car one day, this song came on and it was so slow and heavy all I could think of was me landing from a jump in slow motion and that’s what I did. Oh, and Hale Bopp is a comet. “Clutch” tends to have abstract lyrics that talk about Wookies, chupacabra, yetis, things you have to look up on wikipedia to figure out what they are talking about.
