Bad news for Flip fans, Cisco today announced it’s shutting down the production of Flip Videos. Yes Flip is over. It’s fallen as Cisco streamlines its’ business.
The question is would you still buy a Flip right now?
Personally I would grab one while they are still available, once they are sold out then that will be that. Treat them well and it can last you 2 or 3 years, but I am not sure if they’ll be any support for flipshare. Also forget about the warranty!
As a camera I still think Flip rocks and honestly I hope someone will buy the Flip part of the business and keep it going. Anyone here want to chip in?
UPDATE: The campaign to stop the Flip from extinction starts here > SAVE THE FLIP!

I know a lot of you guys use your Flip Cams to film at events like business conferences, product launches, birthdays, parties, and the like.
I’ve filmed some pretty big events in my time for TV shows. One big event I covered was a Wedding as Director for the BBC show ‘Don’t Tell The Bride’. It’s a hit Reality show where the Groom arranges the whole Wedding out of sight of the bride to be.
Another hectic show I made was an episode of MTV’s ‘My Supersweet 16′ where a rich teen gets the Birthday party of a lifetime.
Very bizarre footage shot at Milan Fashion week featuring Frankie Morello’s Mens collection. Not sure it’s quite my style, how about you? The Flip footage looks awesome though!
Check out this Video of Josh Freese performing with the Nine Inch Nails. Imagine doing that every night of a tour! Filmed on multiple Flip Video Camcorders.

"Your programme is absolutely first class and I wish I'd seen it before I spent £3,000 on professional video production! "
