This video is kind of intriguing, it’s filmed during the making of “We are the Hartmans”.
A Flip Video on hand at a movie shoot is useful to build some pre-release buzz. Don’t worry too much about the tech quality, it’s not the actual movie! Better to shoot the atmosphere than miss out on some juicy content for the Web marketing effort.
Marketing the Film is Cielito Pascual who explains more how the team are using the Flip Camera:
“We Are the Hartmans“ (link to Facebook) uses behind the scenes video to engage and build our audience before the film is complete. There are two projects that are coming out of the BTS (behind the scenes) video: full webisodes (not launched yet) and Clip of the Day. We want a solid fan base that feels like they’ve been part of our “film family”, watching the evolution of the project.
With the Clip of the Day, we can upload the video quickly and also tag it in Facebook which broadens our reach and builds our fanbase. We have a number of notable actors, performers and musicians in our film which helps get the word out as well.
Four of us all happen to be Flip fans and in fact one of the main characters, a pop star named Baxter Brown, uses a Flip camera throughout the film to communicate to his fans online. The Clip of the Day has been edited solely on the Flip software. (The Editor of the webisodes will be using something more robust of course).
You will see footage shot by the director (Laura Newman) during rehearsals, the producer (Blayne Ross), one of the lead actors (Jonah Spear who plays Baxter) and myself, producer of marketing!” (pictured)
